Trivia Night 2012

“Forest Lodge Fashions on the Field”

Around 130 stylishly dressed punters rubbed shoulders in the Forest Lodge school hall on Saturday night to take part in the 2012 Trivia Night. This event marks the biggest fundraising opportunity on the school calendar for the year. And our guests certainly showed that they were ready to put the fun into fundraising and have a great time while opening up their wallets and generously donating to the school.

The theme for the night, “Forest Lodge Fashions on the Field”, reflected the Spring Carnival racing season. Entering through the front door/oversized floral horseshoe, guests were greeted by a school hall cleverly transformed into the Melbourne birdcage with flowing organza drapes, floral decorations and brightly coloured centrepieces. This alongside our guests attire which reflected an abundance of fascinators, frocks and bookmakers along with the two best dressed tables fielding jockey silks and a sponsor group from Emirates.

The bugle sounded for the start of proceedings at 7:30pm and the room buzzed with energy as Mr Trivia got the competition going for the highly sought after winning trophy which was taken off by the Black Caviar table winning by a nose over Knackered!

Alongside the excitement of trivia were table games and a coin toss not to mention the Lucky Door prizes. The silent auction and loud auction were also hotly contested with high bidders taking home holiday prizes to the snow or the Queensland Islands, artwork by an Archibald Prize winner, theatre tickets, dinners and even sporting memorabilia.

And once the paddock had cleared and the last glass champagne had been drunk we were able to count the takings in the bookies bags which shows we brought in nearly $20,000 from this amazing evening.

Thanks to all who came and celebrated with us or who helped us in some way to make this event such a success. And if you missed out come to our next P&C event because we certainly know how to have a good time alongside making a difference for our kids.
