Our fundraising committee is responsible for organising a whole variety of engaging and fun events throughout the year designed to both raise funds for the school and enhance our school community.
In the past, the money raised has gone to a variety of fabulous projects including playground and equipment upgrades, garden infrastructure and tree planting, purchasing of whiteboards, readers and calculators, as well as supporting cultural activities such as languages, the annual art shows, concerts, and other musical performances.
The P&C funds also assist families in the school who might be struggling with the costs of excursions or camps so that no child misses out.
The fundraising events include a series of cake stalls, raffles and at least one major event each year, such as a Trivia Night or Community Day.
In addition to fundraising activities, the Committee also organises community events such as a Mother’s Day Stall which provides the opportunity for children to buy their mums a small gift for their special day; the Welcome BBQ at the start of each year; and the End of Year BBQ to farewell departing Year 6 students.
Forest Lodge Public School has a wonderfully eclectic group of parents, and there is no better way to contribute to and get engaged with the school than be involved with events and fundraising throughout the year. You may be a great organiser and run the cakes stalls or a fearsome door knocker or maybe help out turning a sausage or wrapping presents on Mother’s Day.
Whatever you can offer, it is incredibly rewarding and a great way to contribute to your kids experience at the school. The bonus is the kids get a sense that you care about their school.
If you think you can help out in any capacity, please contact the Events and Fundraising coordinator.
